Industry Insights & Research 📚
Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2026: Identity Is the Front Line
Microsoft’s annual threat report draws on more than 165 trillion security signals a day, and its message is clear: AI has sped up attacks. The median time from discovering a vulnerability to exploiting it is now under 24 hours, and phishing has become a much more common entry point. Identity, meaning AD, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365, remains where most attacks begin. Microsoft’s main recommendation is resilience by design, where recovery and continuity matter as much as prevention. For admins, that means knowing the health of your critical services in real time, not after users call. Read here.
ENISA Threat Landscape 2026: What NIS2 Organizations Need to Know
The EU’s cybersecurity agency analyzed 8,257 incidents from 2025. Roughly 73% of them affected organizations that NIS2 classifies as essential or important. DDoS accounts for most incidents but usually has limited impact, while ransomware remains the biggest short-term threat to business continuity. ENISA also warns that dependencies on suppliers, cloud services, and software packages are now a systemic risk, and it expects AI to enable more stages of attacks. For IT teams under NIS2, continuous visibility into infrastructure is no longer optional. It’s part of the compliance picture. Read here.

Project SAWA – Simplifying SCOM Reporting
Project SAWA introduces a new way to access live and historical Microsoft SCOM monitoring data through a web-based portal. By connecting directly to your existing SCOM environment, SAWA uses established SCOM permissions to ensure each user sees only the data within their authorized scope. With no need for SSRS, Power BI Report Server, or additional Microsoft licenses, SAWA offers a familiar reporting experience that requires no retraining — making SCOM reporting simpler, more accessible, and easier to manage. More about Project SAWA here and here.
