Introducing the NiCE MP Catalog Offline Toolkit
If you’re managing a Microsoft System Center Operations Manager environment without internet access, you’ve likely faced this frustration:
“How do I know if my Management Packs are current?“
Traditionally, the Microsoft MP Catalog requires online access, making it difficult for teams working in secure or air-gapped environments to stay updated. That’s where the new, free-of-charge NiCE MP Catalog Offline Toolkit comes in.

What the Toolkit Does
The NiCE MP Catalog Offline Toolkit is a free-of-charge, lightweight utility that enables you to:
Compare your current Management Packs
The NiCE MP Catalog Offline Toolkit reads the list of Management Packs imported into your Management Group and compares them with the latest version list from the official Microsoft MP Catalog.
Identify missing or outdated Management Packs
Quickly find which Management Packs have newer versions available, even without direct internet access on your SCOM server.
Download updates from a connected station
Use a machine with internet access to pull the updated Management Packs and bring them into your offline environment manually.
All of this works without requiring direct access to the internet from SCOM, making it ideal for secure, disconnected, or high-compliance environments.

Why We Built It
We work with organizations across regulated industries like finance, government, defense, and healthcare, and we kept hearing the same thing:
“We can’t connect our SCOM servers to the internet. But we still need to know when our Management Packs are outdated or missing.”
Until now, there hasn’t been a simple, offline-friendly way to compare your existing Management Packs with the latest versions available from Microsoft. So we built one.

How to Get Started
We’ve made the process as simple as possible:
1. Download the MPCOT Binary
Head over to our GitHub repository to download the latest version of the MPCOT tool. Requires internet access.
2. Export Your MP Inventory from SCOM
Use your SCOM environment to generate a list of currently installed Management Packs.
3. Run the Toolkit for Catalog Comparison
Copy both the MPCOT binary and the exported MP list to a system with internet access. Execute the tool to compare your installed packs against the latest versions from the Microsoft catalog.
4. Download Updated Management Packs
On the same system, the toolkit retrieves updated Management Packs from Microsoft. These are saved locally and can be transferred to your SCOM server.
5. Import into Your Management Group
Move the downloaded MP files to your SCOM server and import them into your environment using standard procedures.

Security & Simplicity
The NiCE MP Catalog Offline Toolkit was designed with offline environments in mind:
No installation required
No external dependencies
Works via standard export/import processes
Free to use, forever
Whether you manage a secure SCOM deployment or just prefer a disconnected architecture, this tool helps you maintain visibility over your Management Packs.
