Veeam Management Pack Security Alert
Recent security disclosures have put the Veeam Management Pack for Microsoft System Center under scrutiny. Security researchers have identified three remote code execution vulnerabilities, including one rated Critical (CVSS 9.3). According to Veeam’s security advisory, versions 9.1 and earlier in the 9.x product line are affected. Veeam will not provide a separate security fix for these versions.
For organizations using the Veeam Management Pack to monitor their VMware infrastructure through Microsoft SCOM, this may be a good moment to take a closer look at their existing monitoring strategy.
An opportunity to rethink VMware monitoring
Security updates are essential, but they can also be an opportunity to reassess whether an existing solution still fits. If you’re reviewing your Veeam Management Pack deployment, consider a dedicated alternative for VMware monitoring.

Already made the switch
A European bank’s experience
A European bank operating approximately 3,500 VMware virtual servers recently replaced its existing Veeam-based VMware monitoring with the NiCE VMware Management Pack.
The result? Almost identical functionality at a significantly lower cost, plus additional capabilities such as integrated security checks.
The project demonstrates that organizations can successfully transition their VMware monitoring to NiCE while maintaining comprehensive visibility into their virtual infrastructure.
